You may have inherited an addictive disease that creates a biochemical reaction to refined foods.

When you ingest refined foods, your body craves more and you can’t stop eating. You are essentially triggered by volume eating and refined foods such as sugar, flour, wheat, and high-fat foods.

Why can’t I eat
like a normal person?

Research has shown that sugar is as addictive as cocaine.

Like sugar, many addictive substances are forms of plant life which have been refined or processed in order to be ingested by drinking, eating, inhaling or injecting. The refinement process facilitates quick absorption of substances into the blood stream which effectively alters brain chemistry and changes mood by flooding the brain with various neurotransmitters including serotonin and dopamine.

But what goes up, must come down, and the high is followed by a long period of depressed feelings.  In order to avoid the low, the food addict eats more.

Food addicts seek this mood change by eating refined carbohydrate and calorie dense foods which result in short-term highs.

We eat to feel better
and always feel worse.

Do you think you are addicted to refined foods?

Our Mission Statement:

Food Addicts Breaking Free is a fellowship of individuals who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from addiction to refined foods. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop eating addictively.  There are no dues or fees for FAB membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions.

Food Addicts Breaking Free is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization, or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes.

Our Primary Purpose is to stay abstinent and help other food addicts to achieve abstinent recovery.

What can you expect from this program?

In most cases, you will lose weight if you are overweight and your health will improve.

Many of us have been taken off medication for diabetes, high blood pressure and other medical issues.

Most of us get our lives back. Overall, our relationships improve, we feel a renewed enthusiasm for life and our spirits are lifted.

Our lives become more manageable and enjoyable.

We don’t feel hungry and best of all, the cravings stop — what a relief!

It is like being
let out of prison.

Why trust FAB?

“Using the FAB Food Plan, I lost 70 pounds and have kept it off for over 20 years.  I got off my blood pressure medication, staved off diabetes and my acid reflux disappeared. The food plan works and the FAB 12 Step Program provides me with continued support to this day.”

Peggy C. from Atlanta, Georgia

“Before I began this FAB Food Plan I was 225 pounds at 5’2″ tall. I was on medication for type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and restless leg syndrome for over 10 years. I was 73 years old. I was in emotional desperation and my physical condition was worsening. I prayed daily for my H.P. to heal me… On day 3 of the retreat I LOST ALL CRAVINGS! That was another miracle for me. When I was on the program, ‘as written’ for only 2 MONTHS, my doctor took me OFF ALL MEDICATION! Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and restless leg. My blood work was totally changed! Today my blood report shows me as ‘Pre-diabetic’.”

Joyce C. from Lake Oconee, Georgia

“At forty-eight years of age, I could no longer control when and how much food I was eating. Weighing 341 pounds, I was not able to stay on a diet.  My life was in turmoil. Little did I know that I had a disease that told me I didn’t have a disease. FAB has helped me stabilize to a comfortable weight loss of 152 pounds and has given me a life living free from guilt plus a healthy mind, body and spirit.”

Alex P. from Australia

Doctor’s Statement on the FAB Program

“All my professional life I have seen patients, co-workers and friends struggle with the inability to control their eating and weight. Many have sought traditional medical and surgical treatments with limited, temporary or no improvement.

Food Addicts BreakingFree is successful because it addresses the underlying physiology of food addiction and therefore the obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors around food and associated feelings of remorse, guilt and shame that fuel more addictive eating.

Eliminating the specific foods and volume that trigger the cravings of food addiction is the first step toward total freedom around food. Members of Food Addicts BreakingFree understand food addiction and can help you unlock the shackles of this chronic and progressive disease. Finally — freedom!”

Steve Kissinger, M.D.
